I write in response to the commentary published April 21, "Pure greed drives food engineering." .

Genetically engineered food products and the hidden human consequences are beginning to surface after a 20-year human experiment preformed by Monsanto. The all-illusive Monsanto spends millions of dollars to keep the GMO label off their products; they have lobbied the last three U.S. presidents to insure they can keep their evil ways from the public's eye.

In March 2013 President Obama signed into law H.R. 933. By choosing to sign this bill the president effectively bars federal courts from being able to halt the sale or planting of GMO or GE crops and seeds, no matter what health consequences from the consumption of these products may come to light in the future.

These GMOs and GEs are beginning to be linked to many childhood health issues that are surfacing more in the past two decades than ever before. Recently Dr. Gerry Berkowitz from the University of Connecticut was the guest speaker at an event hosted by Three Rivers College, Norwich. The doctor explored the health risks and the environmental impact from GMOs. Watch "Genetic Roulette" at www.youtube.com for more information.

How are you feeling about recent government moves that have targeted nonprofit groups and wiretapped reporters' phones?
This has been a very bad week for Obama and it's only Wednesday.
I'm willing to reserve judgment until the investigations provide the how, who and why behind the IRS intrusions and secret AP phone wiretaps.
If Obama were a Republican, the outcry would be deafening.
I don't think it's fair to lump together and blame the president for Benghazi, the IRS actions and Justice Department wiretaps.
Obama is showing himself in the same league as Nixon.
