Harvey makes Sports Illustrated cover

Published May 16. 2013 4:00AM

It just keeps getting better for Mystic's Matt Harvey.

The former Fitch High School standout, now pitching for the New York Mets, is on the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, which includes a feature story on him.

The righthander was the National League pitcher for the month of April with historic numbers - 4-0 with a 1.56 ERA, striking out 46 in 40 1-3 innings.

Harvey hasn't gotten a decision in his last four starts, but through eight starts he's still 4-0 with an ERA of 1.44 with 62 strikeouts and 14 walks over 56 1-3 innings. He's scheduled to pitch against the Cubs on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
