Mystic - The Mystic River drawbridge was closed to all traffic for at least an hour Thursday evening, forcing police on both sides of the river to detour traffic, police said.

The state Department of Transportation could not be reached for a comment on the problem with the bridge, which recently underwent major renovations, including a new vehicle barrier, which were mostly completed last month.

The bridge reopened shortly before 10 p.m.
