Give that singer an A grade! Well, an A-minus, but still - an Entertainment Weekly critic gave Tift Merritt's 2012 release "Traveling Alone" that grade and wrote, "The alt-country chanteuse strips things down on her raw fifth album, letting her aching vocals and bewitching twang do all the convincing." Said bewitcher brings her musical magic to the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook for a concert at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $27. Call 1-877-503-1286.
