‘In-formative’ art at Expressiones

"Relevée" by Daniela Campins

Daniela Campins is the new artist-in-residence at the Expressiones Cultural Center in New London - and we're flattered she's here. After all, Campins was born in Leeds, England, grew up in Venezuela and spends time in L.A. and Santa Barbara. Colorful environs, all - and her travel, studies and experiences are channeled through abstract drawings and paintings that also reflect her interest in concepts like buoyancy, gravity and dissolution. Her Expressiones show, "in-formed," opens with an artist talk/reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Runs through July 14 at 84 Bank St., New London. Hours 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Fri, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sat.; (860) 501-9278.
