Celebrate the Third of July, too

Published July 02. 2013 4:00AM

If you're going to celebrate July 4th - and of course you are! - you might as well celebrate July 3, too. One fine way to do that is, on Wednesday, show up at the gala reception and final bidding of the Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly's 8th annual silent auction. Bidding started on June 26 for a variety of very cool items ranging from yoga classes and artwork to a two-hour cocktail cruise aboard the 74-foot yacht Aphrodite. During the gala, a framed photograph by Ardie Harrison, "Morning Reflection" (shown above) will be raffled off. Proceeds support ACGOW, and the evening is followed by the opening of the "Artists' Favorites" show opening Thursday and running through Aug. 4. Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly, 7 Canal St., Westerly. Gala 5-7 p.m. Wed.; hours 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wed.-Sat., 1-5 p.m. Sun.; (401) 596-2221, westerlyarts.org.
