Connecticut seeks to boost electric vehicle stations
Middletown (AP) — Connecticut will try to more than double the number of electric vehicle charging stations by the end of the year.
Spokesman Dennis Schain says Environment Commissioner Dan Esty will announce on Tuesday incentives to municipalities, businesses and other institutions to increase the number of charging stations from 81 now to 200 by the end of 2013.
Esty and the commissioner of transportation are scheduled to attend an electric vehicle expo at Middlesex Community College in Middletown.
Visitors at the expo can look at the newest electric vehicle models on the market. Nissan, Mitsubishi and Honda scheduled to participate.
Visitors also can have questions answered about electric vehicles and compare different electric vehicle charging stations.
