Brandon Santini brings Memphis blues to New London
Blues as a musical art form may ebb and flow in terms of national appreciation, but there are certain towns where the blues is always a simmering presence. One such hot zone is Memphis, where harpist/singer Brandon Santini and his band are quickly developing a very significant reputation.
With their debut album, "Songs of Love, Money and Misery," now out from the Electro Glide label in Chicago - another blues Mecca - Santini is starting to broaden his horizons. A current tour brings the band to New London Thursday for a show at 33, and John Fries opens. Should be a good way to kick off Sailfest weekend.
