A new state initiative is making $200,000 available to businesses and municipalities to install publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced Tuesday.

Grants will be awarded for proposals that provide the most matching funds from the project host site, are most accessible to the general public, and deploy charging stations in geographically diverse areas, DEEP said in a news release.
