    Feeling 'Enchanted'

For its sixth production at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, Saybrook Stage is presenting "Enchanted April."

This romantic comedy was nominated for best play in 2003 during its Broadway run, which followed its premiere at Hartford Stage.

It was inspired - as were various other films and stage shows - by Elizabeth von Arnim's 1922 novel "The Enchanted April." Two housewives do something very unexpected for them: they run off for a vacation at an Italian villa. They do need a little help monetarily, though, so they ask two upper-crust women to come along.

The cast features David Cardone, Nancy Cardone, Mary Corigliano, Terri Corigliano, Jim Hile, Matthew Joseph. Linda MacCluggage, and Susan Gayle Pynn.
