For over a year now, every Thursday at noon, The Day has hosted the "Live Lunch Break" concert series - streaming musical performances from an across-the-board array of local acts in a studio here at the newspaper.
It's been a very successful concept; "Life Lunch Break" has won the New England News and Press Association Innovator's Award as well as a Best Music Series trophy at last spring's Whalie Awards.
Starting today - and carrying on each Thursday in August - Live Lunch Break is going al fresco. The free shows will originate from New London's gorgeous Hygienic Art Park. The Sue Menhart Band performs today, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Captain's Pizza will be on hand offering savories for sale, so it's a literal opportunity to feed your stomach AND your ears.
Live Lunch Break, noon today, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank Street, New London; featuring the Sue Menhart Band; with food for sale from Captain's Pizza; free; theday.com.
