Home safety is topic of Aug. 29 Backus program

Sprague – The William W. Backus Hospital will host a “Safety in the Home” program at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Sprague Senior Center, 1 Main St., Baltic.

Seniors or caregivers of seniors are invited to this free community event to learn about improving safety in the home. Sheryl Propp, Backus physical therapist, will give a short informational talk, followed by individual fall risk screenings.

Registration is required by calling the Sprague Senior Center at (860) 822-3000, extension 203.

This event is part of a long-term initiative aimed at improving overall health in the community by offering health screenings, educational programs, primary care access, support services and other programs.
