    Holy Affleck, Batman!

No, Ben, say it ain’t so!

I was chagrined, to say the least, when I heard that Ben Affleck had signed on to be the next Batman.

Way to undermine your renewed Hollywood cache, dude.

Affleck became the proverbial Toast of Tinseltown with his Oscar-winning, box-office-topping “Argo.” Everyone loved the movie. It was a huge financial success. It proved that Affleck really was a phenomenal director; his previous two films were not a fluke — far from it.

So why did he decide to become Bruce Wayne?

I mean, remember when Affleck played another superhero in “Daredevil”? Probably not, because it disappeared quickly.

He had progressed beyond that level of film. It feels as though Affleck is taking a step back by agreeing to play Batman.

And it’s not even as though he’s playing Batman in a Christopher Nolan film. He’s playing it in a Zach Snyder movie.

Fanboys think Batman is too good for Affleck. I, on the other hand, think Affleck is too good for Batman.

Ben, drop this flick and go direct another great drama.

What do you think of Ben Affleck playing Batman?
