Town's police boat damaged after hitting rocks

Groton — The town’s marine patrol boat was damaged during routine patrols in the Thames River on Saturday, Capt. Steven Sinagra said Monday.

The boat is at Spicer’s Marina awaiting repairs to its outboard motor after the boat struck some rocks, said Sinagra, who heads the marine patrol division. The crew had been maneuvering slowly, Sinagra said, checking on a hazardous area, when they struck the rocks.

    No one was injured.
