Police say man approached girl at New London bus stop

New London - Police are investigating a complaint made Monday morning about a suspicious man who approached a 13-year-old girl at a bus stop on Montauk Avenue, at Mitchell Court, and offered her money to go with him.

The man approached the girl at 6:40 a.m. while she was waiting at the bus stop, according to a statement from New London Deputy Police Chief Peter Reichard.

The man is described as Hispanic with a heavy accent in his 40s or 50s, 5 foot 2 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, dark gray polo shirt and blue jeans. He appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident.
