Two candidates in North Stonington owed motor vehicle taxes

North Stonington – Two candidates for municipal office this fall owed taxes as of Sept. 3.

Edmond McGowan III, a Republican who serves as an alternate on both the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Hewitt Farm Committee and who is running for an alternate position on the Planning & Zoning Commission, still owes $127.52 in motor vehicle taxes. McGowan could not be reached for comment.

Robin Hall, a Republican running again for her seat on the Zoning Board of Appeals, had not paid off her $91.76 balance on motor vehicle taxes by Sept. 3. Hall said she did not realize she owed the money and paid it off earlier this week.
