State health insurance marketplace gets 96,000-plus visitors in first four days

The state's new online health insurance marketplace, Access Health CT, had 96,738 visitors to its website in its first four days of operation that ended Friday, the quasi-public agency running the site announced.

The call center for the marketplace received 6,102 calls as of Friday, and a total of 1,017 applications for health insurance have been processed.

The site offers health insurance plans from three companies at the gold, silver and bronze coverage levels, to individuals, families and small businesses, with an online calculator available to tally monthly premium payments and federal subsidies that would be available depending on the plan chosen.
