Man arrested for drunken driving after striking three parked cars in New London

New London —An Oakdale man was charged late Tuesday night with drunken driving after police said he struck three parked cars in the area of 108 Hawthorne Drive North.

Justin Hatch, 27, of 17 Bergman Ave., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility and failure to drive right.

Police said witnesses saw Hatch strike three parked cars with his vehicle. Police said when they arrived at the scene, Hatch was attempting to flee the area. The incident happened around 11 p.m.

Police said the cars sustained moderate to heavy damage.

Hatch was taken into custody and given a Breathalyzer test. He registered a .351 and a .371, which is four times the legal limit.

He was released on a non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Dec. 4.
