22-year-old dies in Plainfield crash

Plainfield – A 22-year-old Plainfield man died Tuesday morning after his car traveled off the road and struck a snow bank and utility pole, police said.

The crash occurred at 7:21 a.m. in the area of 387 Putnam Road in the Wauregan section of Plainfield. Police said Robert Perry Jr., 22, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Perry was driving south in a 2005 Saturn Ion when his car veered off the right side of the road and struck the utility pole.

A section of the road was closed Tuesday while police investigated the crash and the utility pole was replaced.

Plainfield police ask anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information regarding the accident to contact the department at (860) 564-0804.
