Montville — The annual Ari R. Cullers Birthday Memorial Fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 91 Raymond Hill Road.

Staff Sgt. Cullers, 28, of Waterford, died Oct. 30, 2011 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan while serving in the Army. He was a mechanic assigned to the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division based in Fort Drum, N.Y.

Cullers' family organized a memorial benefit to honor his memory and raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Bands will perform and a raffle will be held. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the door.
