Author Jane Green brings book tour to region
Jane Green became a best-selling author by being one of the first popular purveyors of "chick lit." It all started with her 1997 novel "Straight Talking" and kept rolling with follow-ups.
Green's work has evolved over time, and her latest, "Tempting Fate," is about a woman who, married for 20 years, worries about the waning of her youth and the ebbing of time. She becomes taken with a younger man but then feels remorse about her fling. The author will be at Bank Square Books in Mystic to talk about the novel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is free. For more information, call (860) 536-3795.
Then, she'll be at Waterford Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. Call (860) 444-5805.
