New London - Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio will present his proposed city budget to the City Council and the public as part of his State of the City address tonight.

The mayor will address a special meeting of the City Council at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. The address is required under a provision in the city charter.

In his address, Finizio is expected to provide a statement "of the finances and general conditions of the affairs of the city."

After Finizio submits his proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2015, the council will begin its review of each department's individual budget.

The council will hold departmental budget review sessions in council chambers on April 3, 10 and 14. Each review session will begin at 5 p.m.
