Sun add Hampton to training camp roster

Keisha Hampton, a 6-foot-2 forward from DePaul, has signed a training camp contract with the Connecticut Sun, the team announced Tuesday.

Hampton is currently playing in Europe, where she is averaging 15.7 points and 5.3 rebounds for Saarlouis, Germany.

Hampton was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the second round of the 2012 WNBA draft, but never played. She injured her right knee during her senior season at DePaul and spent the entire 2012 WNBA season rehabilitating her injury. She was waived by Seattle on May 19, 2013.

Hampton scored 1,574 points for DePaul and was averaging 16.6 points as a senior before having her season cut short after 12 games due to the knee injury. She averaged 13.8 points and 4.7 rebounds for her college career, appearing in 114 games for the Blue Demons.
