East Lyme - Mark Chmielewski scored with 1 minute, 28 seconds remaining Saturday on an assist from Mark Wojcik to give the East Lyme High School boys' lacrosse team a 4-3 victory over Conard.

Conard took a 3-2 lead, but Griffin Woods tied the game on an assist from Zane Smallidge, setting the stage for Chmielewski.

Greg Swenson made 16 saves for East Lyme (2-0), 10 in the first half, and Nic Page and Evan Opsahl also scored.

In other games:

• Ryan Reuling and Andrew Singer each finished with two goals and an assist and Tim Drake added two goals each in Fitch's 13-6 loss to Newington on Friday. Fitch is 0-2.

Girls' lacrosse

• Lily Goldberg and Britta Widham each had two goals and an assist for Williams School in an 11-4 loss to Falmouth. Rachel Goldstein added an assist for the Blues.

Baseball

• Connor Lewis drove in Tom Pezzolesi with a single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Waterford past East Lyme 2-1.

Waterford (2-0) tied the game 1-1 in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Pezzolesi to score Brent Conderino, who finished the game 2-for-3. Thomas Sutera was the winning pitcher.

Hunter Waido was 2-for-3 with a walk for East Lyme (1-2), which scored its only run in the second inning.

• Riley Sorrento's one-out sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Stonington a 7-6 victory over Valley Regional. Stonington trailed 6-5 entering its half of the seventh before Ryan Francis tied the game with an RBI single. Francis also had a grand slam in the fifth inning for the Bears (1-0) and John Moody was the winning pitcher.

• Chance Gendron had three hits, including a double and a home run, with six RBI as Norwich Free Academy topped Cranston West 19-7 at Dodd Stadium. Brandon Russo added three hits for the Wildcats (2-0) and Andy Grant, Brandin Strickland and Griffen Gooden had two hits each. NFA scored 11 times in the sixth inning.

• Willie Rios allowed three hits over six innings as St. Bernard beat Coginchaug 7-0. Rios (1-1) struck out 13 with no walks. Aaron Michaud stole three bases and scored twice, James Foti drove in two runs and Patrick Halloran had two hits and drove in two runs for St. Bernard (2-1).

• Pieter Khoury pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one earned run, in Fitch's 5-4 loss to Hall. Fitch is 0-2.

• Bacon Academy pitcher Ryan Duclos needed just 68 pitches for a complete game against Norwich Tech, allowing only two hits. Mason Thibodeau singled in the second for Norwich Tech (1-2) and Justin Keating had a base hit in the fourth. Bacon is 1-0.

• Justin Pandolfe is a junior pitcher on the Waterford High School baseball team. He was mistakenly called a sophomore in the high school baseball preview which ran on April 9. He was a sophomore last season when he was the winning pitcher in the ECC tournament championship game.

Softball

• Jessica Connor's three-run home run highlighted a seven-run third inning for Stonington, which celebrated the opening of its new field with a 13-3 victory over Chariho. The Bears (1-1) finished with 15 hits, including a double and a homer for Connor in the No. 8 spot in the lineup and a single and a triple for Emma Miller, hitting ninth. Mallory Kane had three hits for the Bears and Theresa Kane had two hits and pitched a five-hitter for the victory.

• Amy Bouchard pitched five innings for St. Bernard with seven strikeouts and no walks, allowing just three hits, as the Saints defeated East Catholic 7-1. Kiely Smith had an RBI double and Margaret Reagan, Amanda Carpenter and Emily De La Cruz each had RBI singles for St. Bernard (2-1).

• Fran Francischelli was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Ledyard in an 11-2 loss to Maloney. Maloney pitcher Paige Mickens-Uliase struck out 11 and allowed just three hits for the Colonels (1-1). Maloney is 4-0.
