    How to document a garden

The New London Garden Club will host a program titled "Documenting Historic Gardens" at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum.

Nora Howard, Garden Club of America's Zone II representative for garden history and design, will lead a presentation about the documenting process and show photos of the gardens in the area that have been documented for the Archives of American Gardens at the Smithsonian Institute.

Her talk will include information about the Carolyn Black Garden at Connecticut College, which was documented by New London Garden Club members Ellen White and Linda Legassie in 1998. Weather permitting, there will be a tour of the Carolyn Black Garden after the talk.

Admission is free, but reservations are requested. For reservations and information, call Gail Schwenker Mayer at (860) 437-1500.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
