Norwich – The Norwich branch of the NAACP is seeking donations to help support local youths’ participation in the national Academic, Cultural, Technology and Scientific Olympics competition.

ACT-SO, a nationwide competition, seeks to encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.

ACT-SO youth compete yearly in 26 categories in the sciences, humanities, business, and performing and visual arts. Last year more than 20 students from the Norwich NACCP branch participated in the competition. The Norwich NAACP has sent youths to the competition for the past 13 years.

The Norwich Branch NAACP would like to bring a delegation of not more than 10 local students to participate in ACT-SO competition this year, to be held from July 19 to 23 in Las Vegas.
