Waterford — Police recovered a stolen vehicle that was on fire Monday on Logger Hill Road off Route 156, according to the department’s Facebook page.

The post states that neighbors saw a man inside the car Sunday afternoon, and that an officer checked the vehicle on Monday morning. The officer reportedly found out that New London police had reported the vehicle stolen.

The officer also discovered that the car “had a fire inside of it,” states the post, and called Waterford Fire Department for assistance.

Police declined to share more details about the situation. Fire Marshal Peter Schlink said he would need to check with the police department before answering any questions about the fire in the car.
