To the Sports Editor:

I read Mike DiMauro's column on April 22 about the Eastern Connecticut Conference and the "Evil Six." Quite humorous.

After coaching at Fitch, Wheeler and Grasso Tech, I think the little schools should have their own conference. How about a league known as the Little East with members Grasso, Wheeler, Parish Hill, Ellis Tech, Windham Tech, Putnam, Tourtellotte, Lyman Memorial, Griswold and Norwich Tech? All of these schools struggle to compete in their current conferences and this type of league would cut down on travel and make their schools more competitive to possibly winning a conference title.

I would think that school morale and spirit would increase knowing you at least have a chance at winning a conference championship.

I hope the administrators at these schools take a look at this idea. Now is the time to do it if the ECC is thinking about changes.
