AAC men’s basketball schedule announced

The UConn men's basketball will log some major frequent flier miles next season while competing in the American Athletic Conference.

The addition of three new teams in East Carolina, Tulsa and Tulane means UConn will cover more ground on the road this season than ever before.

Each of the 11 AAC teams will face eight opponents twice and two others just once in the 18-game format. Defending national champion UConn plays South Florida, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis, SMU, Temple, Tulane and Tulsa both home and away. The Huskies will host Central Florida and visit Houston.

The AAC Championship game will be played on Sunday instead of Saturday. The XL Center in Hartford will be the host site for the tournament that runs from March 12-15.
