O'Neill center names hall for Hensons

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center recently announced the naming of the Jim & Jane Henson Rehearsal Hall, honoring the Hensons’ lifetime of commitment to the O’Neill’s National Puppetry Conference and the advancement of puppetry.

Henson Hall will serve as the headquarters for the annual National Puppetry Conference beginning with the conference’s 25th anniversary in the summer of 2015. The new facility is part of a major campus expansion.

The new rehearsal hall also will house the Jim Henson Foundation Puppetry Residency. Residencies will last two to four weeks and expand and broaden the work of the National Puppetry Conference and offer space and support to deserving artists or projects.

Performances of the National Puppetry Conference are scheduled for today and Saturday, June 21, both at 7 p.m. at the O’Neill. For tickets or more information, call (860) 443-1238 or visit www.theoneill.org.
