Teachers to study sub history and STEM principles

The Submarine Force Library and Museum Association, along with the Submarine Force Museum and Historic Ship Nautilus and the Naval Historical Foundation, announced the 2014 Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and History Teaching Fellowships on Friday.

The participants will use the museum and Nautilus to create standards-based lesson plans based on STEM principles and will learn submarine history. They are: Michelle Mokrzewski of West Side Middle School and Caitlin Kennedy and Mary Harris of Robert E. Fitch High School in Groton; Lisa Allen of Stonington High School; Paul Mezick of Daniel Hand High School in Madison; and Robert Mayne of Chariho Regional High School in Wood River Junction, R.I.
