Sub school officer class 14020 graduates

Groton - Class 14020 graduated from the Submarine Officer Advanced Course recently. The 20-week course teaches participants about tactics, sonar, weapons, fire control, navigation and operations.

Of the 16 graduates, Lt. Christopher Hornung received the L.Y. Spear Award as class honor graduate. Lt. John Walker received the David Lloyd Award for Excellence in leadership, military bearing, academic performance and extracurricular activities. Lt. Jeremy Janney received the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Award for achievement in studying command, control and tactical planning. Lt. Daniel Goodwin was selected as the course's outstanding instructor.
