Katy Perry roars at Mohegan Sun

After Katy Perry met Hillary Clinton at a Clinton booksigning of "Hard Choices," the singer said on Instagram: "I told hillaryclinton that I would write her a 'theme' song if she needs it."

Hillary, take her up on that. No one has had a string of hit singles over the last six years to rival Perry's. She's clearly got a melodic way into the public's hearts and minds.

Perry is currently in the midst of doing the whole world-tour thing with her "Prismatic" concerts, and she's doing a Monday performance at Mohegan Sun Arena. Reports say she - shocker! - wears lots of kooky costumes (dressing as a pink cat here, an Egyptian princess there) and takes part in lots of colorful production numbers (she rides a gold horse and is pulled aloft by balloons).

Naturally, she packs the night with the aforementioned wealth of radio-happy, pop-centric hits: "Roar," "Part of Me," "Wide Awake," "Dark Horse," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "Birthday" ... and on and on it goes.

    - KRISTINA DORSEY

Katy Perry, 7 p.m. Monday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Capital Cities; $100.50, $150.50; mohegansun.com.
