Westerly - Saturday morning nature walks at Napatree Point will begin Saturday with a horseshoe crab walk lead by Laura Craver-Rogers, the Napatree Point Conservation Area announced.
Craver-Rogers will teach participants about these animals, which are referred to as the oldest living dinosaurs and are critical indicators of the health of oceans.
Horseshoe crabs come ashore to spawn during the high tides of the new and full moon. Volunteers will help count, measure and tag the animals.
All are welcome. The group will meet at 9 a.m. at the entrance to Napatree Point by the Misquamicut Beach Club.
