Fitch High School dismisses baseball coach Marc Peluso

Groton - Marc Peluso has been dismissed as the head baseball coach at Fitch High School, school sources said Wednesday.

The job has also been posted on the website of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, the state's governing body of high school athletics.

The sources said Peluso's dismissal stems from "a conflict between Peluso, some of his players and their parents."

Attempts to reach Peluso were unsuccessful.

Fitch athletic director Marc Romano declined comment, saying it's a "personnel issue."

Peluso recently completed his seventh season, taking over the program from longtime coach Ed Harvey.

Peluso's team won the 2012 Class L state championship and followed it last season with a 20-6 record and Eastern Connecticut Conference's Large Division co-championship.

The Falcons went 9-12 this season.
