Jewett City woman hit by car while attempting to remove dead cat from road
Plainfield — A 55-year-old Jewett City woman was injured this afternoon when a pickup truck hit her as she attempted to remove a dead cat from the southbound lane of Norwich Road.
Ellen A. Doyle was struck at approximately 5:15 p.m. by a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Todd A. Wilcox, 43, of Plainfield. Police said Doyle was transported to the William W. Backus Hospital for treatment. They did not release the extent of her injuries.
The collision occurred in front of the Better Value Supermarket, located at 657 Norwich Road. Police did not say whether charges have been filed against Wilcox. The accident remains under investigation.
