Lindsay Davenport has reached her sport's highest honor, with her induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Davenport highlighted a five-person class that was enshrined Saturday on Newport's grass courts during a 90-minute ceremony.

Davenport spent 98 weeks ranked No. 1. She won the 1998 U.S. Open, 1999 Wimbledon, 2000 Australian Open and 1996 Olympic gold medal to go with three major doubles titles.

Tennis great Chris Evert was among those at the ceremony. She described Davenport's tennis as "so loud, so strong and aggressive."

Davenport enters the hall with five-time Paralympic medalist Chantal Vandierendonck in the recent player category, coach Nick Bollettieri, executive Jane Brown Grimes and broadcaster John Barrett in the contributor category.

Following the induction ceremomy, second-seeded Ivo Karlovic of Croatia and third-seeded Lleyton Hewitt of Australia advanced to the final of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.

The 6-foot-11 Karlovic ousted Samuel Groth of Australia 6-4, 6-4. Hewitt, who lost in the 2013 final to Nicolas Mahut, beat seventh-seeded American Jack Sock 6-1, 6-2.
