    Rockabilly double-bill at 33 Club

The Bloodshots play in New London Friday.

The folks who play and enjoy rockabilly are almost cult-like in their enthusiasm of the admittedly infectious form - and their pack-like mentality is all part of the fun.

To become initiated, head Friday to the 33 Club in New London for a Jager-strong double-shot of rockabilly greatness. Headlining are The Bloodshots from Brooklyn, eagerly moving Wanda Jackson and Link Wray into the modern world.

Also on the bill are Psycho & the Sick-a-Billys, a beer-and-chicken-fueled band whose relentless onstage energy presents an intriguing challenge to The Bloodshots because they're virtually impossible to follow onstage. On the other hand, if anyone can, The Bloodshots might be able to pull it off.

    - RICK KOSTER

    The Bloodshots,

    8 p.m. Friday, 33 Club, 33 Golden St., New London; with Psycho & the Sick-a-Billys; $5; (860) 443-1193.
