UConn was well-represented at the ESPYs on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Women's basketball standout Breanna Stewart won Best Female College Athlete, while former UConn forward Maya Moore was tabbed as the Best WNBA Player.

UConn has had a total of 16 ESPY winners since 1993, with seven coming since 2010.

Stewart, who averaged 19.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.8 blocks last season, is the first Husky to win the award since Moore won three straight from 2009-11. The 6-4 forward was the AP, USBWA, and espnW Player of the Year following UConn's perfect 40-0 season.

Moore was recognized after leading the Minnesota Lynx to the 2013 WNBA title, earning the Finals MVP award. As a student-athlete, she led UConn to a 150-4 record over her four-year career, which included four Final Four appearances and two National Championships. She finished her career as the fourth-leading scorer in NCAA history with 3,036 points and was honored as the Capital One University Division Academic All-American of the Year and BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010 and 2011.

The Huskies had a total of eight nominations this year after completing the sweep of both the men's and women's basketball titles. Head coaches Kevin Ollie and Geno Auriemma were both up for Best Coach, while former men's basketball star guard Shabazz Napier was nominated for Best Championship Performance after leading the Huskies to their fourth-ever national title. Stewart and Moore both received nominations for Best Female Athlete which was awarded to UFC fighter Ronda Rousey.
