What a mistake for the Stonington planning board to allow the removal and destruction of every tree and shrub to the property line of Clara Drive so that Masonicare can build a retirement community of independent and assisted living apartments. Don't they know we need trees and shurbs to absorb the carbons we are producing?

Proper planning could have saved a great number of the trees and shrubs by keeping a buffer zone along the property lines and steep bank leading to Clara Drive. Clearly, no thought was made as to the effect this project will have on the neighbors and environment. Or don't they care about the environment?

I guess Masonicare didn't care.
