Old Lyme — An Old Lyme man was arrested early Monday morning after police said he drove his father’s car and damaged several athletic fields at Lyme-Old Lyme High School.

Connor Robbins, 23, of 5 Stonewood Drive was charged with first-degree criminal mischief.

Police said he drove through a wooden guardrail, a chain link fence and two safety nets. He allegedly damaged the football, lacrosse and soccer fields. Police said the damage is estimated at $5,600.

Robbins fled the scene and was found at his father’s home.

Robbins posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Aug. 6.
