    Morea - Townsend

Greg Morea and Barbara Luftglass-Morea of Gales Ferry are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Joseph Morea, to Alicia Townsend, daughter of Sue and Don Townsend of Colchester.

The wedding took place on May 24 at the Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam. The bride's two sisters, Ensign Brianna Townsend, USCG, and Charisse Townsend, served as maids of honor, and the groom's sister, Rebecca Morea, and Nicole Souza were bridesmaids. Best man was the groom's friend since kindergarten, Paul Smith, and groomsmen were long-time friends Ben Adams, Ryan Deveau, and Paul Fidrych. Justice of the Peace Marion Krepcio, a friend of the groom's family, performed the ceremony, which included traditions from the backgrounds of both the bride and groom as the couple were married under a hand-made family chuppah (canopy), the groom stepped on/smashed a glass, and the couple "jumped the broom." The reception began with a blessing by the bride's grandfather, Marcus Townsend.

Alicia is a 2006 graduate of Bacon Academy. She received a bachelor of science in business administration from Bryant University in 2010 and is currently employed as a life claims analyst at Aetna Insurance in Hartford. Joseph is a 2006 graduate of Ledyard High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2010 in both computer science and business and management. He is currently employed as a software engineer at Electric Boat Corporation.

Joseph and Alicia honeymooned in the Bahamas on Paradise Island. They reside in Taftville with their cat, Cocoa.
