Griswold woman to sing national anthem at Fenway

Sharon Brouillard of Griswold will perform the national anthem on Sunday, Aug. 17, prior to game three of the Red Sox-Astros series. First pitch is at 1:35 p.m.

Brouillard, a Norwich native who lives in Griswold and works for Mystic Seaport, often sings the national anthem at Seaport events, including several commemorating the restoration and recent voyage of the Charles W. Morgan. After hearing Brouillard sing around the region, U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, introduced her to the Red Sox organization as a potential candidate to sing the national anthem at Fenway Park.

"I am humbled and honored to be able to represent the state for Connecticut Day at Fenway," said Brouillard in a press release. "As a long-time Red Sox fan, this is indeed a dream come true for me."
