Waterford 13s drop World Series opener

Glen Allen, Va. - Waterford lost in its opener at the Babe Ruth Baseball 13-year-old World Series Saturday, falling to Arizona state champion Chandler/Mesa 10-0.

Waterford has a bye Sunday before playing three other pool play games. Waterford plays Greenville, N.C., on Monday at 7 p.m.; Gainesville/Haymarket, Va., Tuesday at 4 p.m.; and Flathead Valley, Mont., Wednesday at 10 a.m.
