    UConn bomb threat closes admissions office

    Storrs — The Tasker Building, the facility that houses the University of Connecticut’s admission office, was evacuated for about an hour Monday morning after the school received a bomb threat.

    Stephanie Reitz, the university’s spokeswoman, said at 10:55 a.m. staff in the Tasker Building received a call regarding a bomb threat on campus. The building was evacuated.

    UConn police evaluated the threat and determined it was not credible. Normal campus operations resumed at 11:47 a.m.

    Investigation of the source of the threat is ongoing.

    Anyone with information about the threat or who might have witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to call UConn Police at (860) 486-4800 or submit information anonymously via the UConn Police website, police.uconn.edu, and click on “Submit a Crime Tip.”
