    Celestial art at St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church in New London

    New London - Father Anthony Salzman of St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church of Watkinville, Georgia, worked with members of the church to install the different sections of a ceiling mural titled "The Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven" high above the sanctuary floor at St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church in New London Thursday.  The mural painted using Byzantine iconography was installed in sections created by Father Salzman using acrylic media.  

    The more than two-year-long project is in preparation for St. Sophia's 75th anniversary weekend and will be dedicated October 12.
