Try a 'Change of Scene' in Westerly

    'Under Attack' by John Fast

As the title of the Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly suggests, "A Change of Scene" implies transition - whether in the context of seasons or artistic perspective. Hell, just look at the majestic moose in John Fast's tremendous photograph "Under Attack" (above). That's a fine animal transitioning from being in water to not being in water! Along with Fast's wildlife and scenic works, the show also features Nina Briggs, whose stoneware and hollow porcelain pendants are inspired by her own nature walks and segues from one season to the next. "A Change of Scene" kicks off with an artists' reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and the exhibit runs through Sept. 28. The ACGOW is located at 7 Canal St., Westerly. Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wed.-Sat. and 1-5 p.m. Sun.; (401) 596-2221, westerlyarts.com.
