Analysis: Lefflbine, the St. Lawrence quarterback, earned all-conference honors last year in the Liberty League - his touchdown pass with 1:21 remaining lifted the Saints to a 21-17 victory over Coast Guard last season - however will be throwing to a new group of receivers. None of the Saints' wide receivers today have a single career reception. St. Lawrence's leading rusher from last year, meanwhile, Maurice Irby (787 yards, 7 TDs), is not listed on the team's depth chart for today's game for unknown reasons. ... Coast Guard, with 20 returning starters, will try to avenge last season's loss. Brown at wide receiver and Black at left end are a pair of preseason All-Americans, while Victory at quarterback was the New England Football Conference Offensive Rookie of the Year, starting the final seven games of the season. ... St. Lawrence is 3-0 in the series.
