Authors do lunch at Bank Square Books

Novelists Laird Hunt and Matthew Thomas will be at an authors luncheon at Bank Square Books from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Hunt's new release "Neverhome" is about a farmer's wife who has left her husband to become a Union soldier in the Civil War.

Thomas' debut novel, "We Are Not Ourselves," charts the story of the American century through Eileen Tumulty, born in 1941 to Irish immigrant parents in Queens. Eileen's scientist husband doesn't aspire to the American Dream in the way that she does.

The luncheon costs $10 - or $30 for lunch and one of the books. Those who want to buy the second book can do so for 20 percent off.

For reservations, call (860) 536-3795. Bank Square Books is at 53 West Main St., Mystic.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
