Local museums offer free admission

On Saturday, Sept. 27, more than 1,000 museums across the country will open their doors free of charge as a part of Smithsonian magazine's 10th annual Museum Day Live.

Local participants include the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, 110 Pequot Trail, Mashantucket; the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, 108 Crescent St., Norwich; the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams St., New London; and the Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank St., New London.
